Woman Suffers Severe Facial Injuries As Guardrail Pierces Myvi

A 29-year-old woman suffered serious facial injuries after the Perodua Myvi she was driving skidded off the road and crashed into a guardrail, which pierced through the vehicle near SMK Naning on Tuesday.

The crash, which occurred at about 3.23pm, also involved the woman’s 56-year-old mother, who was seated in the front passenger seat.

Melaka Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Zone 2 chief Tc Zulkhairani Ramli said 10 firefighters from the Alor Gajah Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call.

The team arrived at about 3.34pm and began rescue operations.

“Upon arrival, the team confirmed that a road accident involving a car that had skidded off the road had occurred.

“The injured victim was handed over to Health Ministry medical personnel for initial treatment and further action, while her mother sustained only minor injuries,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.

Zulkhairani said the operation was brought under control at 3.48pm before being fully concluded at 3.56pm.

A video of the crash later went viral on social media, showing the woman with blood covering her face following the collision.

The footage also showed the woman and her mother still inside the vehicle, while the metal guardrail could be seen piercing through the front section of the car.
