Teen Found Dead With Neck Injury At Kelantan Construction Site

Date:

An 18-year-old Rohingya teenager was found dead with an injury to his neck, believed to have been caused by a sharp object, near a shed at a house construction site in Taman Desa Kujid, Kampung Panji, on Friday.

The teenager was discovered at around 10.30pm near the construction site, where he was believed to have been killed.

Kampung Panji resident Najib Ahmad, 50, said he only learned about the incident at around 7am today after being informed by members of the village surau congregation.

“I went to the construction site and found that the area had already been cordoned off by police. The site was also quiet, with no workers around,” he said.

Najib said the house had been under construction for about three months and was being worked on by foreign workers. Residents had previously seen four men working at the site.

He said he understood that police were looking for closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage to assist the investigation, but this proved difficult as most houses in the area did not have surveillance cameras.

Kota Bharu district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azmir Damir, when contacted, confirmed that the case was still under investigation and that police were taking further action.
