Man Taken To Psychiatric Ward After Aggressive Outburst At KLIA

Date:

A 26-year-old Bangladeshi man was taken to Hospital Kajang for further treatment after allegedly behaving aggressively and disturbing other passengers at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) last Thursday.

KLIA district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ravi Munusamy said the man was at an airline counter at Terminal 1 at about 4.40pm when he allegedly began shouting loudly and disturbing other passengers.

He was scheduled to board a flight back to Bangladesh at 10.20pm that day.

Ravi said terminal security personnel were called to the scene to calm the situation before taking the man to the KLIA police station.

However, the man allegedly became aggressive again after failing to calm down during a cooling-off period.

“However, during the cooling-off period, the suspect was unable to control himself and acted aggressively,” he said in a statement today.

Ravi said the man was subsequently taken to Hospital Kajang, where he was placed in a psychiatric ward for further treatment.

He added that the man’s embassy had also been informed.
