A man is in critical condition after falling from the third floor of a building at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun (HRPB) in Ipoh yesterday afternoon.
Ipoh district police chief ACP Muhammad Najib Hamzah said police received a report regarding the incident at around 2.30pm.
He said preliminary investigations found that a hospital security guard had spotted the man behaving suspiciously near an emergency staircase.
“The security guard then followed the man before discovering that the victim had fallen from the third floor of the building,” he said when contacted today.
The man was subsequently taken to the HRPB Emergency Department for treatment and remains in critical condition.
Muhammad Najib said the victim is believed to be a local man aged between 60 and 70, but he was not carrying any identification documents when he was found.
He was wearing a red short-sleeved T-shirt and black slacks at the time of the incident.
Police are now appealing to the public for help identifying the man, particularly anyone with missing family members who may match his description.
“Those with information or who recognise the victim based on these descriptions are urged to come forward to assist police in identifying him,” he said.
