Monthly Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) assistance has started being credited to eligible recipients through their MyKad from today.
The Ministry of Finance (MoF), in a post on X on Thursday, said households receiving Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) will receive RM100 in monthly SARA assistance, while senior citizens and single individuals will each receive RM50 a month.
For recipients who are registered under both STR and eKasih, the monthly assistance is higher, with households receiving RM200, senior citizens RM150 and single individuals RM100.
MoF said SARA can be used to purchase essential goods from 15 approved categories, covering more than 140,000 basic products.
These include items such as rice, eggs, bread, cooking oil, over-the-counter medicines, frozen food, canned food and school supplies.
The assistance can be used at more than 14,700 selected supermarkets and grocery stores nationwide.
Recipients can use their MyKad to make eligible purchases under the SARA programme at participating outlets.
