JPPKK Hands Over Investigation Into 19-Year-Old Polisas Student’s Death To Police

Date:

The Department of Polytechnic and Community College Education (JPPKK) has left the investigation into the death of a 19-year-old Politeknik Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (Polisas) student entirely to the police.

The student, M Elisa Jonova, 19, from the Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management programme, was found unconscious at a rented room on Tuesday morning.

In a statement on Wednesday, JPPKK said the case was currently being investigated by the authorities and that both JPPKK and Polisas would provide full cooperation throughout the investigation.

“JPPKK and Polisas will provide full cooperation to assist the investigation process and leave it to the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation,” it said.

Earlier, Sinar Harian reported that the student was suspected to have been murdered at a rented room in Jalan Air Putih 2, following an alleged misunderstanding with her boyfriend in the early hours of Tuesday.

Kuantan district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ashari Abu Samah said police received an emergency call at about 4.32am from the victim’s boyfriend, who reported the incident.

JPPKK also expressed its condolences to the deceased’s family and said it would continue providing appropriate support and assistance to them during the difficult period.

The department urged the public not to speculate or circulate unverified information about the case.

It also called on the public to respect the privacy and feelings of the victim’s family as they cope with the loss.

JPPKK and Polisas said any further updates would be communicated from time to time.
