Malaysia’s men’s doubles pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik stormed into the Denmark Open final after upsetting South Korea’s world No. 1 duo Kim Won Ho-Seo Seung Jae in straight sets today.
The world No. 4 Malaysians delivered an impressive performance to defeat the top seeds 21-14, 21-18 in their semi-final clash at the SJF Bank Arena in Odense.
The victory marked a significant achievement for Aaron-Wooi Yik, who have reunited after a trial period partnering other players as they searched for the best combinations ahead of upcoming challenges.
The Malaysian pair also repeated their victory over the South Koreans after eliminating them in the semi-finals of the World Badminton Championships in India last August.
The latest result brought their head-to-head record back to an even 3-3, underlining the Malaysians’ ability to challenge the world’s best.
Aaron-Wooi Yik will face either China’s Liang Wei Keng-Wang Chang or Indonesia’s Fajar Alfian-Muhammad Shohibul Fikri in tomorrow’s final as they aim to claim the title.
