Loke Warns DAP Reps Must Meet Strict KPIs Or Risk Being Dropped As GE Candidates

Date:

DAP elected representatives must meet strict key performance indicators (KPIs) or risk losing the opportunity to contest in the next general election, party secretary-general Anthony Loke has warned.

Loke said all DAP representatives were expected to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, discipline and commitment, cautioning that those who failed to meet the required standards might not receive their nomination letters.

“If they fail to achieve the stipulated KPIs, they will not receive nomination letters to contest in the next election,” he said when officiating the 24th Perak DAP Convention at the Ipoh Convention Centre on Sunday.

Perak DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming was also present.

Speaking at a subsequent press conference, Loke said the party had implemented a strict monitoring system to ensure its elected representatives fulfilled their responsibilities and delivered the best possible results for the public.

The KPIs cover community service, constituency duties, party activities, efforts to strengthen the party and, most importantly, the representatives’ presence and engagement on the ground.

“I believe the system we have implemented is very effective. Perak DAP is very active on the ground, and our elected representatives are constantly carrying out their duties.

“If anyone is less active, we will ensure changes are made.

“Through this system, we will continually remind them if their performance is unsatisfactory. The likelihood of them being dropped as candidates will be higher,” he said.

Loke said the monitoring mechanism placed elected representatives under constant pressure to perform well and fulfil the mandate entrusted to them by voters.

He added that the system was implemented nationwide, although each state had its own monitoring approach.

“Yes, this system is implemented nationwide. Each state has its own monitoring mechanism.

“What I want to emphasise is that Perak DAP’s monitoring system is particularly strict.

“I believe this approach has had a positive impact, with our elected representatives remaining active on the ground.

“If there are any shortcomings, we will ensure improvements are made,” he said.

On seat allocations among Pakatan Harapan (PH) component parties for the upcoming Melaka state election, Loke said the matter had been finalised at the state level.
