Viral Car With ‘Bomba’ Signage And Warning Lights Not An Official Fire Department Vehicle

Date:

The Kedah Fire and Rescue Department has confirmed that a private vehicle displaying the word “Bomba” and fitted with a special warning beacon light is not an official department vehicle or registered with any Voluntary Fire Brigade (PBS) in the state.

In a statement, the department said it was aware of a video circulating on social media showing the vehicle.

It added that further action was being taken to address the matter and ensure the alleged misuse of the department’s identity was dealt with appropriately.

“The Kedah Fire and Rescue Department takes seriously any use of its identity that could mislead the public and undermine the image and credibility of the fire and rescue service,” the statement said.

The department also urged the public not to speculate or share unverified information to avoid causing confusion.

It thanked members of the public for bringing the matter to its attention, stressing that public cooperation was important to ensure information shared was accurate and verified.

Earlier, a five-second video went viral showing a private vehicle bearing the word “Bomba” and equipped with warning lights allegedly nearly colliding with several other vehicles after running a red light in an area of Sungai Petani.
