Two Men Killed In Myvi-Vellfire Head-On Collision Near Bukit Antarabangsa

Date:

Two men were killed in a collision involving a Perodua Myvi and a Toyota Vellfire along the MRR2 near Bukit Antarabangsa early Sunday.

Ampang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Khairul Anuar Khalid said the crash occurred at about 12.40am at KM23 of the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2), involving traffic heading towards Bukit Antarabangsa.

He said the Myvi was believed to have lost control before veering into the opposite lane.

“The car, driven by a man travelling from Taman Melawati towards Cheras, then collided head-on with the Toyota Vellfire,” he said in a statement on Sunday.

The Myvi driver suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel from Ampang Hospital.

Khairul Anuar said the Vellfire driver was also injured but later died while receiving treatment at the same hospital.

The vehicle’s passenger remains under further medical care.

The two deceased men were aged 18 and 43.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Police have urged anyone who witnessed the accident to come forward at the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division of the Ampang Jaya district police headquarters to assist with the investigation.
