A driver in Banqiao, New Taipei City, Taiwan, resorted to a dangerous move after police caught him illegally parking along a red line – by lying underneath a tow truck in an attempt to stop it from leaving.
The bizarre incident happened on the morning of Nov 2 along Section 2 of Shuangshi Road, where the man had parked his vehicle in a restricted area.

When officers began towing the vehicle, the driver suddenly climbed underneath the tow truck and shouted loudly, using his body to block the vehicle from moving.
Despite repeated attempts by police to persuade him to get up, the man refused to budge, holding up the towing operation.
Additional police officers were eventually called in to assist. Only after they arrived did the man finally get up from the ground, reportedly reluctantly ending the standoff.
He claimed that he had only parked there briefly to leave something upstairs.
However, police pointed out that the towing procedure had already been completed and the tow truck was on the road when he attempted to stop it from leaving.
Despite his explanation, the parking violation remained, and the man was issued a traffic summons for his actions.
