Tengku Puteri Zainah Tengku Eskandar, the former wife of ex-prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, is reportedly in critical condition and receiving treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU).
The news was shared by her eldest son, Datuk Mohamad Nizar Mohamad Najib, in a Facebook post on Wednesday, where he appealed to the public to pray for his mother’s recovery.
“With humility, I seek prayers from all our friends, relatives and acquaintances for the health of my beloved mother, Tengku Puteri Zainah, who is currently receiving treatment in the ICU,” he wrote.
He said her condition remained critical and urged well-wishers to pray for her strength, relief from pain and recovery.
“Our family sincerely hopes for everyone’s prayers. May every prayer offered become a source of Allah SWT’s mercy and help,” he added.
Najib’s Facebook account also shared a separate message about Tengku Puteri Zainah’s condition, expressing prayers for her and the family as they face the difficult situation.
“We pray that Allah SWT grants her and the entire family strength and patience in facing this trial.
“May Allah SWT relieve her pain, ease the treatment process and grant her the best possible recovery,” the post read.
According to a statement, Tengku Puteri Zainah is receiving treatment at the ICU on Level 1 of Gleneagles Hospital Ampang.
Tengku Puteri Zainah, 65, is the mother of Nizar, Putri Norlisa and Mohd Nazifuddin.
