A 16-year-old student was killed after the motorcycle he was riding reportedly skidded and crashed along Jalan CV 4, Cyber Valley, on Thursday evening.
The teenager suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene following the incident, which occurred at about 6.30pm.
Sepang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Norhizam Bahaman said preliminary investigations found that the victim was riding a red Yamaha Nouvo LC from an international school in the area towards his home at Aurora Cyber Valley.
“When he reached the scene, the victim is believed to have lost control of the motorcycle before it skidded and fell onto the road.
“He sustained serious head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical assistant from Cyberjaya Hospital,” he said in a statement on Friday.
Norhizam said investigations also found that the victim, who attended a private school in Cyberjaya, did not possess a valid driving licence.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
He urged the public not to speculate about the incident, warning that doing so could interfere with police investigations.
