So far, 12 Malaysian volunteers taking part in the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) humanitarian mission to Gaza have been detained by Israeli forces after the Zionist regime intercepted their vessels.
The latest to be confirmed in custody are Farah Lee and Danish Nazram, who were aboard the vessel Grande Blu.
Earlier, Malaysians reported detained included singer Zizi Kirana, who was on the Huga; Haikal Abdullah, Muaz Zainal, Zulfadhli Khairudin and Rusydi Ramli from the Sirius; as well as Heliza Helmi and Hazwani Helmi from the Hio. Others are Iylia Balqis, Ahmad Musa Al-Nuwayri, and Sul Aidil from the Alma.
An emergency SOS message for all 12 volunteers was posted on the Sumud Nusantara social media page, confirming they are being held by Israeli forces.
According to tracking data from the Sumud Nusantara Control Centre (SNCC), the Grande Blu was intercepted at 12.58am Gaza time, followed by the Hio at 2.34am, about 60 nautical miles off Gaza.
As of 7.50am Malaysian time, 17 Malaysians were reported to have lost contact with SNCC after their vessels were intercepted.
SNCC stated that, at present, ten ships are marked as “attacked” while another 13 vessels have sent out distress signals.
