A local man was arrested after assaulting and threatening his former fiancée at a house in Taman Bukit Indah on Monday.
The 37-year-old suspect allegedly became aggressive when his 21-year-old ex-fiancée, who works as an administrative assistant, came to collect her personal belongings.
Ampang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail, said the victim lodged a police report following the incident.
“At around 2.10pm, the complainant went to her former fiancé’s residence to retrieve her belongings. Upon her arrival, the suspect acted aggressively, scolding her, throwing objects, and proceeded to punch and kick her on the head and back,” he said.
Mohd Azam added that the suspect also threatened to stab the victim.
“As a result, the victim suffered pain in her head and back,” he said.
A police team from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Ampang Jaya District Police Headquarters arrested the suspect at 1.20am yesterday.
“Further checks revealed that the suspect, who is self-employed, has no prior criminal record. He has been remanded for four days from yesterday until Friday to assist in investigations under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and Section 506 for criminal intimidation,” he said.
