5.1-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Cebu’s Bogo City, No Damage Reported

Date:

A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck Bogo City in Cebu early this morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

The tectonic quake occurred 18 kilometers northeast of Bogo City at 5:39 a.m. local time, the Philippine News Agency (PNA) reported.

Phivolcs said the tremor, which hit at a depth of 10 kilometers, was an aftershock of the 6.9-magnitude earthquake that shook the waters near Cebu Island in central Philippines on September 30.

No damage has been reported from the quake.
