A teenage boy was killed after being dragged under a bus following a motorcycle accident at the Jalan Masai Kong Kong–Jalan Betik 1 intersection yesterday morning.
Seri Alam District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Sohaimi Ishak, said the 19-year-old victim died at the scene of the crash, which occurred around 7.30 a.m.
According to investigations, the victim was riding a Yamaha Y15 motorcycle towards Jalan Masai when he collided with a van that emerged from a junction and attempted to turn right.
“The victim could not avoid the van and crashed into its front left side, causing him to fall and be dragged under a bus coming from the opposite direction. He sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene,” he said.
The 54-year-old van driver has been detained to assist with investigations. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
