The Taiwanese commuter who previously went viral for kicking an elderly woman during a heated altercation on the MRT has once again caught public attention — but this time, it’s for her fashion sense.
Known as Fumi on Instagram, the woman posted a photo on September 30 flaunting a shopping bag from Japanese designer label Homme Plissé Issey Miyake — the very same bag she had been seen handing to another passenger moments before kicking the 73-year-old woman during the viral incident.
In her post, she cheekily captioned the image, “Since everyone is curious about this product,” while posing in a colorful shawl beside the designer bag.
When local media first picked up her account, Fumi had around 2,600 followers. Within days, her follower count skyrocketed to over 18,000, with many netizens praising her “elegant” style and bold attitude, while others criticized the public’s fascination with her.
Interestingly, several commenters claimed they had also encountered the elderly woman, surnamed Tseng, describing her as someone who frequently argued with passengers and demanded seats on the MRT.
In an unexpected twist, Tseng herself was arrested on October 1 for allegedly stealing from a convenience store. Viral videos showed police escorting her away — still holding the same designer bag from the MRT incident.
Further reports revealed that Tseng had a history of theft, with multiple shoplifting cases in 2023 and a 55-day prison sentence she never served.
The saga, which began as a shocking viral confrontation, has now turned into a bizarre social media phenomenon — blending scandal, style, and irony in equal measure.
