Who Knew the Scruffy Guy at the Restaurant Was Justin Bieber? Fans Go Wild!

Date:

Pop superstar Justin Bieber surprised staff and fans at Cromars Fish and Chips in St Andrews, Scotland, when he sang the menu while stopping by for a quick dinner during his visit for the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

The 31-year-old Canadian, who has 293 million Instagram followers, initially went unnoticed by staff. Manager Charles Mair told the Daily Mail: “We had no idea who he was at first. We were busy with the Dunhill Cup, and suddenly this customer started tapping on the counter and singing the menu. It was only later we realized it was Justin Bieber.”

Bieber, accompanied by two friends, ordered several of the shop’s haddock and chips specials with a bottle of Innis & Gunn beer. Despite the shop filling up with fans, he remained polite, relaxed, and patient, taking his food to go because seating was limited.

Mair described the visit as a buzzing but enjoyable experience, noting that Bieber spent about 15 minutes in the shop and was courteous to everyone around him. Fans quickly shared photos online, including a selfie Bieber took outside Cromars, sparking a surge of visitors hoping to recreate the moment.

After St Andrews, Bieber traveled 11 miles north to Dundee, where he was spotted in a local pub enjoying a quiet drink, playing an arcade game, and even buying a round for fellow patrons.

During his Scottish trip, Bieber stayed at the five-star Gleneagles Hotel, attending the golf championship and delighting guests with a piano performance of “Walking Away” from his latest album Swag.

Manager Mair said the visit has already boosted the profile of Cromars, finalists in the Scottish Fish and Chip Awards, and he hopes Bieber’s stop will bring them good fortune in the competition.

Bieber, visiting Scotland without wife Hailey Bieber, ended his St Andrews outing with a stroll along Market Street, sharing snapshots of himself enjoying the town’s lively atmosphere.
