The body of a man dressed like a security guard was discovered wedged between rocks and piles of trash along the Klang River near USJ 1 on Thursday.
Subang Jaya District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the incident was discovered around 11:15 a.m. by a local man who was surveying the project site before starting work.
“The witness saw a body lying face-up across the river and immediately contacted the MERS 999 emergency hotline. The victim was fully dressed in a black collared T-shirt with the word ‘Security’ printed on it and black trousers. He is estimated to be around 160 centimeters tall,” he said in a statement on Friday.
The body was later retrieved with the help of firefighters from the SS17 Subang Jaya Fire and Rescue Station.
“The victim was confirmed dead by a medical officer from Sungai Buloh Hospital at 2:45 p.m. The identity of the deceased has not yet been determined as no identification documents were found,” Wan Azlan added.
Initial forensic examination revealed that the body was already decomposing, and the cause of death has yet to be established.
The remains have been sent to the Forensic Department of Hospital Sultan Idris Shah, Serdang, for a post-mortem. The case has been classified as sudden death (SDR) pending autopsy results.
Wan Azlan urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.
