Budget 2026: RM2.3 Billion Allocated For Major Airport Upgrades Across Malaysia!

Under Budget 2026, the government has allocated RM2.3 billion for airport upgrades across Penang, Sarawak, and Sabah.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the funding will go toward improvements at Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, and Miri airports, with all projects expected to be completed by 2028.

He added that the short take-off and landing ports (STOLports) in Marudi, Sarawak, and Redang, Terengganu are also being upgraded, with completion targeted for 2027.

The Prime Minister further announced the Inter-Terminal Transfer Project between KLIA Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, which will improve passenger connectivity and integrate both terminals into a seamless, world-class international airport experience.

Additionally, the Selangor state government, in collaboration with Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB), is developing the Selangor Aero Park, a 600-acre logistics and cargo hub in Sepang that will serve as a regional logistics gateway.
