Budget 2026: RM120 Million Allocated For Free Education!

Date:

Students from low-income families earning less than RM2,700 per month will be eligible for free tertiary education funded by PTPTN.

In addition, PTPTN borrowers from low- and middle-income families who graduate with first-class honours in their degree programmes will have their loans fully forgiven.

However, for borrowers who are able to repay but default, the government will reinstate an international travel blacklist to enforce repayment.

The government has allocated RM120 million to provide free education for 5,800 children from low-income families enrolled in public universities (IPTA).
