Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced that in 2026, all 9 million recipients of the Bantuan Kasih Sayang (STR) will also receive a Basic Care Assistance (SARA) of RM100 per month, or RM1,200 per year.
Additionally, 1 million STR recipients under the National Poverty Database System (e-Kasih) will receive an enhanced SARA of RM200 per month, or RM2,400 per year.
Single individuals will be eligible for RM600 annually (RM50 per month), while families can receive up to RM4,600, based on having five children and a monthly income below RM2,500 (comprising RM2,200 STR and RM2,400 SARA).
