Special Committee Formed After Tragic School Stabbing in Selangor

A special committee has been established to ensure a thorough, transparent, and fair investigation into the stabbing incident at a secondary school in Selangor.

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek confirmed that the suspect has been detained by police and will fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation.

“The Ministry of Education extends its condolences to the family of the student who tragically passed away from the stabbing. We pray that the family is granted strength and patience during this difficult time,” she said in a statement on Tuesday.

She added that a team of counselors, guidance teachers, and psychosocial support staff has been mobilized to provide intervention and support to students, teachers, and the entire school community.

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning when a Form Four female student at a secondary school in Petaling Jaya was fatally stabbed by a male Form Two student. The attack reportedly took place around 9:30 a.m., with the suspect carrying a knife.
