Family Claims Body Of 16-Year-Old Girl Killed In School Stabbing

The body of a 16-year-old female student who was fatally stabbed at a secondary school in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, yesterday has been claimed by her family.

South Johor District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Shamsudin Mamat, confirmed that the body was released to the family at 7:30 a.m. following an autopsy at the Department of Pathology, University of Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM).

“Yes, the body was claimed by the family at 7:30 a.m. Further updates will be shared by the Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Shazeli Kahar, in a press conference at 11:30 a.m.,” he said briefly.

Meanwhile, the remand application for the suspect has been completed, with additional details to be provided during the press briefing.

The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. yesterday, when the 16-year-old student was allegedly stabbed to death by a 14-year-old male student at the same school.

Inspector-General of Police, Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail, confirmed that the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the suspect has been detained.
