Two weapons seized in the case of a Form Three female student fatally stabbed at a secondary school in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya on Tuesday are believed to have been purchased online.
Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Shazeli Kahar, said the knife and a kerambit were bought through an online platform. “Investigations found that only the knife was used to stab the victim during the incident, while the kerambit was not used. Additionally, the suspect’s family was unaware of the weapons in their possession,” he said during a press conference at the Selangor Contingent Police Headquarters on Wednesday.
Datuk Shazeli added that police are still verifying how long the suspect had owned the weapons. “So far, we have only confirmed the method of purchase; the duration of possession is still under investigation. We also found that there had been no checks on students’ bags before entering the school previously,” he said.
The incident occurred around 9.30 a.m. on Tuesday, when a Form Three female student (Transition Class) was allegedly stabbed by a male student at the same school. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene within the school compound.
