According to People, 13-year-old Kasey-Lei Greene from the UK and her family moved to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, in 2024. On September 4 this year, Kasey went to a local cinema with friends to watch a movie. Unexpectedly, halfway through the film, she suddenly collapsed and could not be awakened. Alarmed, her friends immediately called her father.
Upon receiving the call, Kasey’s father rushed to the cinema, and paramedics arrived within ten minutes. Despite their efforts, Kasey tragically passed away due to cardiac arrest. Her grieving father recalled, “I was so anxious at the time. I held her hand, but I could see she was already gone.”
Kasey’s family described her as a friendly and outgoing child who loved making friends across different walks of life and often invited them home for gatherings. “She was full of energy, laughter, and kindness. We will lay Kasey to rest in her hometown and are grateful to everyone who was part of her life,” they said.
Kasey’s funeral was held on October 3, with over 600 people in attendance. Friends and relatives still in the UAE also participated online to bid her a final farewell.
