Three current students and one former student of a local school have been arrested for allegedly being involved in gang rape and distributing explicit content that went viral on social media.
Acting Baling District Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent Ahmad Salimi Md Ali, said police received a report from a 53-year-old parent at 8:11 p.m. on Sunday, after a discipline teacher informed them about a viral video showing their child naked. The police report was officially filed around 11 a.m. the same day.
“By approximately 9:30 p.m., three students and one former student were detained to assist in the investigation. During the operation, police seized six mobile phones,” he said.
Preliminary investigations revealed that all four suspects were involved in storing and distributing the explicit material. Further inquiries indicated that the suspects allegedly engaged in sexual activity, including gang sex, from May to August 2025 at various locations, including classrooms within the school.
Police have obtained a five-day remand order for all four suspects, starting from the date of arrest, to facilitate further investigations.
The case is being investigated under Section 375B of the Penal Code for gang rape and Section 8 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 for distributing child pornography.
