Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has issued a stern warning to schools and Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) not to protect or conceal bullying incidents, even if they appear minor, stressing that such actions are tantamount to shielding criminal behavior.
The Prime Minister emphasized that some school administrators who attempt to cover up bullying to preserve the reputation of their institutions must stop immediately, as this only worsens the situation.
“Principals, teachers, and parents must fully cooperate. One of the issues is the misunderstanding or priority of school administrators who want to protect the school’s image. When cases arise, they hide them under the pretext of maintaining the school’s reputation. But if they protect it, that is an offense, equivalent to covering up a crime,” he said.
