Singapore Driver Forgets To Remove Nozzle, Rips Off Entire Petrol Pump In Johor

Date:

A petrol station along Jalan Skudai in Johor was forced to temporarily shut down operations after a car with a Singapore registration plate drove off with a fuel pump nozzle still attached, tearing off the entire pump kiosk in an incident that occurred on Friday night.

According to The Straits Times, the incident, which took place around 10:15 p.m., was captured in photos and videos by Johor resident Chen Zi Xin, who happened to be at the scene and later uploaded the footage to Facebook.

In the video, a petrol station worker can be seen running toward the damaged kiosk while a man, believed to be the driver of the Singapore-registered car, steps out of the vehicle. Zi Xin said her father witnessed a staff member trying to stop the driver to alert him about the situation, while her family quickly left the station fearing a possible explosion.

At least three other drivers were seen abandoning their cars as the station’s operations were halted for safety reasons.

A staff member on duty confirmed that a police report had been lodged and the station’s insurance company was informed. The affected pump remains closed pending safety inspections and cleanup work.

The driver, a Singaporean man in his 30s, reportedly apologized repeatedly and cooperated fully with the station staff. He stayed at the scene until 3 a.m. to settle matters with the authorities and station management.
