Former U.S. President Donald Trump is making his way to Malaysia this Sunday, October 26, to attend the 47th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, confirmed Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.
“Confirmed — Donald Trump will arrive in Malaysia on Oct 26,” Fahmi announced after Friday’s Cabinet meeting, while inspecting preparations at the International Media Centre and International Broadcast Centre at KLCC.
Details about Trump’s first visit to Malaysia since starting his second term last November remain under wraps. The summit, themed “Inclusivity and Sustainability”, runs from October 26 to 28 and will see ASEAN’s ten member states joined by major dialogue partners including the U.S., China, Japan, and India.
Trump had earlier hinted at his Malaysia trip during a public statement this Monday, generating buzz among regional leaders and media alike.
