Man Who Attacked 78-Year-Old Grandma After She Kindly Offered Him Water

Date:

A grandmother’s kind gesture turned into a nightmare when she was attacked and robbed by an unknown man who entered her home in Taman Temerloh Jaya yesterday.

The 78-year-old victim was looking after her grandchild around 5 p.m. when a dark-skinned local man entered her terrace house without permission.

Temerloh District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nasyim Bahron, said the suspect had asked for a glass of water before suddenly grabbing the elderly woman’s bracelet and snatching her mobile phone.

“The suspect also shoved the victim, causing her to fall. She suffered bruises, minor cuts on her wrist, and swelling on her head,” he said in a statement today.

The victim reportedly lost about RM1,000 worth of belongings and lodged a police report at the Temerloh District Police Headquarters (IPD) at 8:53 p.m.

Mohd Nasyim urged the public, especially senior citizens living alone, to be cautious and avoid letting strangers into their homes.
