Four Women Enjoy Lavish RM1,700 Meal—Then Walk Out Without Paying!

Date:

A group of four women racked up a lavish £312 (around RM1,700) meal at Cheers restaurant in Norwich before brazenly walking out without paying. The shocking dine-and-dash, which occurred on the evening of October 5, included steaks, cocktails, and 11 shots of Baileys, leaving restaurant owner Andrea Marinho forced to cover the bill from her own earnings.

CCTV footage captured the women enjoying their hearty feast, with their young children seated beside them, before leaving the restaurant one by one. Andrea told the Daily Mail that staff were “not suspicious at all” when the women arrived unbooked, well-dressed, and seemingly celebrating.

“They ordered a lot of food, multiple plates, beers, cocktails, and shots. We thought they were celebrating something special,” Andrea said. “I was really upset because we’re new in town, and to have to pay £312 (RM1,700) out of the day’s earnings was a huge blow.”

Norfolk police have released images of the women and urged anyone who recognizes them to come forward. The incident follows similar cases across the UK, highlighting the growing trend of dine-and-dash scams at restaurants.
