Severe Thunderstorms and Strong Winds Expected to Hit Multiple States Across Malaysia

Thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds are expected to hit several areas across Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Selangor, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, and Sabah until 12 p.m. today.

According to a statement issued by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) at 8:30 a.m., the affected areas in Kedah include Langkawi, Yan, Kuala Muda, Baling, and Kulim, while in Penang, the warning covers Seberang Perai Utara and Seberang Perai Tengah.

In Selangor, bad weather is forecasted for Klang, Kuala Langat, and Sepang, whereas in Negeri Sembilan, the areas expected to be affected are Seremban, Port Dickson, and Rembau.

For Melaka, Alor Gajah and Melaka Tengah are listed under the alert, while in Sabah, the warning applies to Tawau, Sandakan, and Kinabatangan.

MetMalaysia has urged the public to remain cautious, as heavy rain and strong winds may lead to flash floods and property damage in affected areas.
