Mystery in Costa del Sol Resort as Man Thrown from Speedboat and Left to Die

Date:

A man has died after being thrown from a boat and left abandoned at the popular Costa del Sol resort of Puerto Banus, southwest of Marbella.

The shocking incident occurred around midday on Monday near a fuel station at the marina. Witnesses said several men aboard a semi-rigid boat, reportedly equipped with four powerful engines, dumped the victim before speeding away. Emergency services arrived quickly but pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Authorities have not confirmed reports that the vessel was linked to drug trafficking. The Civil Guard and National Police are investigating, and the man’s body has been taken to Malaga’s Institute of Forensic Medicine for autopsy. Early police reports suggested there were no visible injuries, but investigators have not ruled out foul play or a connection to organized crime.

Puerto Banus — one of the Costa del Sol’s most glamorous hotspots — has seen several violent incidents in recent years, prompting increased police patrols during the busy tourist season.

Just last month, Swedish rapper Hamza Karimi, known as Hamko, was shot dead in broad daylight in the same area. A 38-year-old suspect was later arrested and remains in custody.

In recent years, Marbella and its surroundings have become a flashpoint for drug-related violence involving international gangs. Following the attacks, local authorities have launched high-profile operations and raids at luxury venues to curb rising crime.

The investigation into the latest death is ongoing.
