11 Arrested After Armed Brawl Erupts at Miri Waterfront

Date:

Police have arrested 11 individuals, aged between 16 and 25, in connection with an armed brawl that erupted at the Miri Waterfront in Sarawak.

Miri police chief Farhan Lee Abdullah said the fight, which occurred around 2am, left one man injured.

“The victim was taken to Sarawak General Hospital for treatment and is currently in stable condition,” he said, as reported by Bernama.

The arrests followed the circulation of a one-minute video on social media showing the violent altercation, believed to have started after two men intentionally bumped into each other.

Police have since confiscated several weapons believed to have been used during the fight.

The case is being investigated under Section 324 and Section 148 of the Penal Code, which relate to causing injury with dangerous weapons and rioting.
