The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) has stepped up its crackdown on illegal waste dumping, identifying 43 hotspot areas across the city to curb the problem.
Mayor Mohamad Zahri Samingon visited one of the affected locations at Jalan SS 3/29 on November 3 to inspect surveillance and enforcement measures.
To strengthen monitoring, mobile CCTV cameras have been installed at 16 sites, enabling real-time observation and evidence gathering against offenders.
According to MBPJ, the initiative combines education, enforcement, and community cooperation to promote a cleaner, safer, and greener Petaling Jaya in line with the Petaling Jaya Smart Sustainable and Resilient (PJSSR) 2030 vision.
Operations have been intensified with targeted patrols and swift enforcement to catch culprits red-handed.
Mayor Mohamad Zahri warned that strict action will be taken against anyone caught dumping waste illegally, urging residents to do their part by reporting such activities to the council’s hotline at 03-7954 2020.
