Identity of Woman Found Decomposed in Bentong Oil Palm Plantation Confirmed

The identity of a woman whose decomposed body was discovered beneath a pile of oil palm fronds at a plantation in Batu 19, Jalan Karak-Kuala Pilah, near Telemong, Bentong, has been confirmed.

Pahang Police Chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman stated that the woman was in her 40s and an Indonesian national. Her identity was verified by her husband, who also provided information to authorities today.

“Forensic officers conducted an examination, and the body was also autopsied yesterday. The report indicates that the woman had been decomposed for more than two weeks,” he said.

Datuk Seri Yahaya added that a more detailed investigation at the scene will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

He spoke to the media after a police promotion ceremony at Dewan IT, Kompleks Logistik, Jerantut, which involved the appointment of Superintendent Mohd Azahari Mukhtardan as District Police Chief and Superintendent Maziah Hamzah as Deputy Head of Legal Investigations, Pahang.

According to Yahaya, the victim’s husband had not previously reported her missing. The case has currently been classified as a sudden death (SDR).

Police had earlier appealed to the public to come forward if anyone had missing family members or relevant information following the discovery.

The woman’s body was found by a member of the public around 5 pm on Monday. During examination of the surrounding area, police also recovered several of the victim’s belongings, including green sports shorts, a watch, slippers, and a black jacket.
