Woman Sits Face-to-Face on Motorcycle, Netizens Dub It “Motorcycle Bento”

Date:

A shocking video circulating on social media shows a man riding a motorcycle with a woman sitting face-to-face in front of him, wrapping her legs around his waist as they ride through traffic. The 19-second clip has stunned viewers and sparked heated debate online, with one user joking, “I’ve heard of train bentos, but this is my first time seeing a motorcycle bento.”

In the footage, the woman can be seen sitting backward on the front seat, facing the rider. While the pair seemed steady while waiting at a red light, once the light turned green, the woman’s legs started swaying left and right as the motorcycle moved forward — a sight many netizens described as both bizarre and extremely dangerous.

After the video went viral, online comments poured in, such as: “Isn’t this dangerous driving?” “They should lose their license for that!” and “What are they even trying to do?” Others joked, “Maybe they’re stuck together,” and “Are they on the way to the ER?”

In response, police reminded the public that under Taiwan’s Road Traffic Management and Penalty Act, carrying passengers or cargo in an unsafe manner that poses danger while driving can result in a fine between NT$3,000 and NT$18,000, along with orders to correct the violation or stop driving. Officers also urged all road users to follow traffic safety regulations and avoid reckless behavior that could lead to serious accidents.
