Hong Leong Bank has announced it will officially shut down two of its branches on January 16, 2026, as part of its ongoing efforts to streamline operations and adapt to changing customer habits.
According to a notice on the bank’s official website, the affected branches are:

- Batu Gajah branch in Perak – operations will cease on January 16, 2026, and services will be transferred to the Jalan Pasir Puteh branch in Ipoh.
- Temerloh branch in Pahang – also closing on the same date, with services moved to the nearby Mentakab branch.
Despite the closures, Hong Leong Bank continues to operate 210 branches and 1,071 self-service terminals nationwide. The bank says the move reflects a broader strategy to enhance digital banking services and realign physical branches with evolving customer preferences.
As more Malaysians turn to online and mobile banking, Hong Leong Bank is committed to optimising its branch network to meet the demands of a digitally savvy population.
