Search Underway for Man Who Plunged Into Sea from Penang Bridge

A 47-year-old local man is feared missing after reportedly falling from the Second Penang Bridge into the sea, according to Sin Chew Daily.

The Penang Fire and Rescue Department received a report around 7 a.m. today that someone had fallen at the 19km mark of the bridge, heading from Batu Maung toward Batu Kawan.

Rescuers arriving at the scene discovered that the man, identified as Tan Kheng Joo, had left his motorbike and wallet containing his identification behind.

Authorities immediately launched a search and rescue operation to locate him. At the time of reporting, Tan’s condition remains unknown as teams continue their urgent efforts.
