A Texas man has been sentenced to life in prison for the horrific 2023 murder of his wife, Sherry Shugart Jutson. Brian Alan Jutson Sr, 47, drove seven hours to confront his wife over suspicions of infidelity, ultimately strangling her and stabbing her repeatedly with a pair of scissors, according to court documents.
Authorities were called after a chilling 911 call from the couple’s child, reporting the attack. Responders found Sherry lifeless in the master bedroom, while their two children were unharmed and did not witness the crime.
During a police interview, Jutson admitted to the murder, recalling his wife’s desperate pleas for mercy. He reportedly showered to remove evidence before leaving the home. Prosecutors presented witness testimony and messages exchanged between Jutson and his wife prior to the attack during the trial.
On November 13, District Judge Kyle Hawthorne sentenced Brian Jutson to life in prison.
