A pharmacy employee sustained a leg injury after being bitten by a two-metre-long python while using the toilet at her workplace in Setia Alam this afternoon.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said they received an emergency call at about 3.46pm and dispatched six firefighters from the Bukit Jelutong Fire and Rescue Station.
“The team arrived roughly 15 minutes later and successfully freed the 23-year-old woman from the snake’s bite. She was then handed over to Health Ministry personnel for further medical treatment,” he said in a statement.
The python was safely captured and later released in an appropriate location. The operation was concluded at 4.29pm.
