What began as a normal day quickly turned dramatic when a cat was found trapped behind an ATM machine, triggering a rescue that has since gone viral online.
The incident, recorded on video and shared on TikTok, showed the frightened cat stuck behind a Bank Muamalat ATM, desperately trying to wriggle free. Those at the scene were left puzzled over how the cat had managed to squeeze into such a narrow space.
Staff at the location tried several ways to rescue the animal, but none worked. With the situation becoming more complicated, they called in the Angkatan Pertahanan Malaysia (APM) for help.
In a scene that both impressed and amused viewers, one APM officer went all out for the rescue, inserting half his body into the ATM’s upper compartment to reach the trapped cat. His legs could be seen dangling in the air as he carefully worked to pull the animal to safety.
After several tense moments, the cat was finally freed unharmed.
Adding humour to the viral moment, the TikTok user who shared the clip joked that the cat was now “under police investigation for entering the ATM — maybe planning a robbery.”
