Suspected Tiger Attack Hits Bukit Bangkong After Livestock Killed

Date:

Authorities are probing a possible tiger attack in Bukit Bangkong, Tanah Hitam, after seven cattle were reported dead or missing.

Perak police chief Comm Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin said the livestock owner lodged a report on Friday evening, stating that two of the cattle were found dead with suspected bite marks, while five others had vanished.

Police and officers from the Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) were immediately deployed for initial checks and patrols.

Perhilitan has since installed camera traps in the area to verify whether a tiger is roaming nearby.

Noor Hisam said monitoring efforts will continue, with all agencies coordinating closely to manage risks and protect residents.

He also urged the public to report any sightings quickly, stay vigilant, avoid forest edges, and steer clear of any encounters with wild animals.
