Avsec Kuching Video Goes Viral Showing Officers Serving Through Hari Raya

Date:

As Malaysians gear up for Hari Raya Aidilfitri and plan to return to their hometowns, a group of police officers are reminding the public that service often comes before celebration.

A video shared on the Friends of PDRM Facebook page has been trending, featuring aviation security (Avsec) personnel at Kuching International Airport (KIA) joining a popular social media swipe trend. In the clip, officers in full uniform attempt the trend, where users “swipe” in hopes of transforming into festive Hari Raya attire — a playful nod to requesting leave for the celebrations.

In a humorous twist, the officers remain in uniform after two swipes, signalling that their leave has not been approved and they will continue serving during the festive period. The reel’s caption read: “Sorry gang, your services are required. Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri ‘Maaf Zahir dan Batin’ from us at Avsec KIA.”

The light-hearted post quickly drew praise online, with many social media users commending the officers’ dedication. One commenter, Zee How Tai, said: “Thank you, brothers and sisters. Your sacrifices and contributions will always be remembered.” Another, Mami Nms, added: “Selamat Hari Raya to all members of the police. Thank you for your service and dedication over the years.”

Hari Raya Aidilfitri, marking the end of Ramadan, is expected to be celebrated in Malaysia on March 21, pending the official announcement from the Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal.
