Malaysian Parent Shocked After Child Eats Mouldy Hot Dog From Ramadan Bazaar

Date:

A Malaysian parent was left alarmed after discovering that a hot dog purchased at a Ramadan bazaar was mouldy, with the added worry that their three-year-old child had already eaten a small portion.

In a post on Threads.com, the parent asked fellow users for guidance on what to do, listing possible actions: chill the food, confront the seller, report it, or take the child to a clinic. “I’m not confrontational and don’t want to make this go viral, but my child has eaten it. Please advise,” the post read.

Many netizens recommended prioritising the child’s health by seeking a medical check-up immediately, while also suggesting speaking to the seller about the incident.

Others advised reporting the matter to the Health Ministry, highlighting the potential risks of consuming mouldy food.

The post sparked widespread discussion online, with users sharing similar experiences and stressing the importance of vigilance when buying food from bazaars.
