A Malaysian food delivery rider has touched hearts online after candidly sharing his regrets about neglecting his studies during his school years — and his decision to turn things around.
In a now-viral post, the young man reflected on how he spent the past five years working across various delivery platforms, admitting that his choices during his SPM days had shaped his current path.
“Almost five years doing this kind of work. Back then, I didn’t want to study properly. During SPM, I just slept. No point regretting now — I chose this path myself,” he wrote.
Despite the regrets, the rider isn’t giving up. Instead, he’s decided to sit for his SPM again this month, describing it as a “second chance” he intends to make the most of.
“I hope I can use this second chance well. May things be eased for me. Please pray for me too, friends,” he added.
His honesty quickly went viral, with many Malaysians flooding the comments section with encouragement and support. Netizens praised his courage to start over, reminding him that everyone progresses through life at their own pace — and that it’s never too late to begin again.
Others also pointed out that being a rider is no easy job and deserves respect, as delivery workers play a vital role in ensuring countless meals and essentials reach homes daily.
“Your effort won’t betray you. Keep going,” one user wrote.
“Nothing to be ashamed of — you realised it early enough, and you’re doing something about it,” said another.
The rider’s story has since become a heartfelt reminder that even when life takes unexpected turns, there’s always room for redemption — as long as you have the courage to take the first step.
