A rare trading card featuring Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly been sold for a staggering US$1.35 million (RM5.3 million) during a recent auction event.

The exclusive 2018 Panini Kaboom card was released during Ronaldo’s time with Italian football giants Juventus FC and was sold through the Fanatics Collect sales network.
The eye-watering sale not only became the most expensive Ronaldo-related sports memorabilia ever sold, but also secured its place as the second most expensive football trading card in history.
The current record for the world’s most valuable football card is still held by Argentine football legend Lionel Messi after one of his rookie cards was sold for US$1.5 million (RM5.9 million) in 2025.
According to reports, the Ronaldo card received a perfect PSA 10 grading from Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA), significantly boosting its rarity and collector value.
Sports memorabilia and trading cards have continued to explode in popularity globally, with collectors willing to spend millions on limited-edition items linked to legendary athletes.
Ronaldo, now 41, currently plays for Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr FC and remains one of the most recognisable and commercially successful athletes in world sport.
