Seller Under Fire After Saying “Poor Still Want Buy” To Customer Refusing To Cancel Order

Date:

A Malaysian online seller has come under fire after allegedly threatening to send an empty parcel to a customer who refused to cancel a purchase worth RM2,897.06.

The incident surfaced on Reddit, where the buyer shared screenshots of a conversation with the seller following the purchase of a hardware item on a popular e-commerce platform. According to the post, the seller asked the buyer to cancel the order, claiming the listed price was incorrect and the item was no longer available.

However, the situation quickly escalated when the seller reportedly warned that if the order was not cancelled, an empty parcel would be sent instead. “If you don’t cancel, we will send you an empty parcel and thank you for the free money,” the seller allegedly wrote in the chat.

When the buyer requested a refund instead, the seller’s tone became increasingly hostile. Screenshots shared online showed the seller insulting the customer, calling him “stupid” and an “idiot”, while also mocking him for being unable to afford the item.

Despite receiving an automated warning from the platform stating that the language used violated its terms and conditions, the seller reportedly continued with abusive remarks and even threatened to leak the customer’s home address online.

The exchange quickly drew widespread criticism from netizens, with many urging the buyer to report the seller to both the e-commerce platform and the authorities due to the threat involving personal information.

One Reddit user commented that the buyer was not responsible for any pricing error, adding that sending an empty parcel would amount to a scam. Another user shared a similar experience with a rude seller, saying they immediately blacklisted the store after being insulted during a product inquiry.

Several commenters also questioned the seller’s business practices, pointing out that screenshots appeared to show significant price changes for the same item within a single day.

Following the online backlash, the buyer reported the incident to the e-commerce platform. The seller’s page has since been removed and is no longer accessible.
